In an effort to clean up the blog archives, I'm removing stuff that's no longer relevant, including most of my political commentary. I want the blog to be focused on the paranormal, without the distractions provided by outdated posts on Hurricane Katrina and the controversy over waterboarding.
In retrospect, I probably never should have used this platform for political issues, but when I started the blog, I had no idea what I would talk about (which is why I gave it the anodyne title "Michael Prescott's Blog"). I just nattered on about any subject that interested me. Although the emphasis gradually shifted to parapsychology and especially life after death, I never completely lost the habit of posting opinions on current controversies, humorous or bizarre Web content, books, movies, etc.
Little of this is still of interest, if it ever was, and nowadays I find I disagree with a lot of my old opinions. So I'm sweeping out the Augean Stables.
Categories that have been emptied out will be deleted. The first to go is "Current Affairs." Others will follow. But the paranormal posts and accompanying reader comments will remain. Even where I disagree with a position I once took on some issue of psi or the afterlife, I want to leave these old posts around as evidence of the development (whether evolution or devolution) of my thinking.
